Knowledge Management and Information Architecture Solutions
We help clients solidify their vision and implement effective knowledge management solutions that encompass knowledge platforms, repositories, and processes. We work with our clients to define a vision, evaluate alternatives, develop a plan, manage project teams, and complete the project.
Our services focus primarily on capturing and sharing knowledge and thought leadership through websites and web-based subscription services.
In many cases, an organization recognizes an issue but is unclear on alternative solutions. We work with the organization to clearly identify the issue and potential solutions. We believe in establishing the proper balance of systems and processes to speed delivery and minimize ongoing maintenance efforts.
This process typically entails capturing feedback from the relevant stakeholders, identifying the issues, confirming the issues, isolating the vision, formulating alternative solutions, and working with leadership to select the best solution.
Many organizations acknowledge the need to develop better knowledge management processes or interfaces for customers, employees or other constituents. However, many of these projects can be sizable one-time events. Typically, current employees do not have sufficient time or experience to manage such multidisciplinary projects while at the same time managing their day-to-day tasks.
Depending on the magnitude of the solution, organizations may not have the in-house resources to manage all aspects of the project. We work with leadership to identify resources. In many cases, the resources may be external.
We also serve as overall director to ensure that the project moves forward and completes as scheduled.
Thomas Hoey & Associates, LLC directed the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) that now represents the single source of authoritative U.S. accounting standards and the integration with the U.S. Financial Reporting eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) taxonomy.
As noted in his recent book, Accounting Changes: Chronicles of Convergence, Crisis, and Complexity, FASB chairman Robert Herz states, "Clearly, the development and launch of FASB ASC as the single source of U.S. GAAP represented a major and important milestone in the history of accounting standard setting in the United States...After years of development, this much more efficient, user-friendly method of researching up-to-date solutions has become a reality."
